This is the third course in the Women’s Training Track and should be taken after Women’s Pistol 1: Intro and Women’s Pistol 2: Basic. After learning the basics of grip, stance, sight picture, sight alignment, and trigger control, the students should continue in their practice and training to become more comfortable in the skills learned.
The skills taught in this class will be how to rapidly acquire a target while making a conscious decision whether or not it is a threat, and the +1 methodology of shooting (which is deliberate decision-making to only shoot as long as you have a valid lethal force threat). Instruction will also include how to step, move, and follow through while defensive shooting. The class will conclude with exercises in malfunction clearances and the beginning stages of working from the holster.

Alysia Burrows is an accomplished multi-gun competition shooter, NRA-certified firearms instructor, certified Utah concealed firearms instructor, licensed private security officer, and mother of four.
Alysia was born and raised in Orange County, California and received her B.S. from University of Utah in 2009 where she took her first pistol course. With 20 years of marriage under their belt, she and her husband Sean are inseparable on and off the range. After her first shot from a pistol, it has been difficult to find a moment when she is not in close proximity to a firearm of her choice.
In 2015, she began exploring the world of competition shooting, eventually finding her way to the multi-gun shooting sports. Currently, she leverages her large and rapidly growing social media following to help inform, inspire, and empower other women and families to exercise their 2nd Amendment rights and participate in action shooting sports.
